The Minnesota Vikings are in town and they're hoping to spoil the party for the NY Giants to start the season. Sam Darnold and Co. are road favorites to take down the G-Men, but Daniel Jones, Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns and others are ready to prove everyone wrong. On Sunday, MetLife Stadium will be rockin' as well.
When the Giants first take the field too, they'll be looking a bit differently. Earlier this year, the team revealed their new 'Century Red' jerseys to honor the organization's 100th year. The jerseys have had mixed reviews, including from the players. Come Week 1 against Minnesota, though, the squad will be showcasing them for the first time.
The Giants will wear their 'Century Red' jerseys against the Minnesota Vikings
Big Blue has been hyping up these jerseys for a little while now and rightfully so. The organization, which has won four Super Bowl titles, wants to make Year 100 extra special and the new gear is certainly a great way to do it.
It's on the guys in these special uniforms to play as great as they look in them too. Jones is facing the most pressure, which is something we don't have to tell you. In what could prove to be his last season with the team, Danny Dimes needs to remind everyone of how strong he can be with the ball in his hands. Will he end up returning to his 2022 form?
The last time the Giants and Vikings faced off, Jones made history, throwing for 301 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 78 rushing yards in the thrilling Wild Card Round win during the 2022 campaign. Wouldn't it be sweet to see him play like that, especially after Ivan Pace Jr. trolled the team and the NY offense?
There's going to be plenty of drama for the first game of the year for the Giants. On both sides of the ball, the guys need to be at their best to try and start the campaign off the right way. With Brian Daboll calling the plays on offense too, it will only make this battle even more intriguing.
