The New York Giants have not started the way they had hoped, dropping their first three games of the season, which has led to Big Blue losing 14 of its last 15 games, and fans have had enough.
After Russell Wilson’s second interception of the first half, the crowd started chanting “We Want Dart” — and the Giants made that decision, officially naming the rookie their Week 4 starter against the Chargers.
The seat is not getting any colder for Brian Daboll, and the schedule is not getting any easier for the Giants. New York will have to start stacking wins sooner rather than later before this season gets away from them. That said, let's predict the Giants' next four games after a frustrating 0-3 start to the 2025 season:
Predicting the Giants' next 4 games as Jaxson Dart era officially begins
Week 4: The Chargers defeat the Giants 28-14
Giants fans will get what they want in Week 4 — the Jaxson Dart debut game. While it will be inspiring at times on offense, with the G-Men scoring at least two touchdowns (including some explosive plays from Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo, and Wan’Dale Robinson), it won’t be enough against the Chargers, as Dart will likely face some growing pains.
We can expect a big game from Los Angeles’ offense, and it’ll be tough for Big Blue’s defense to keep up. With Najee Harris suffering a season-ending injury last week, Omarion Hampton will take over as the workhorse back and should get a lot of work. Justin Herbert will also utilize his receiving options, and we can expect Ladd McConkey, Keenan Allen, and Quentin Johnston to put on a clinic against the Giants’ secondary. We’ll likely see Daboll get outcoached by Jim Harbaugh in this one, and the Giants will unfortunately drop to 0-4.
Giants record: 0-4
Week 5: The Giants beat the Saints 23-6
Don’t worry, Giants fans, the losing streak ends here. Big Blue heads down to New Orleans to take on the Saints, who have been extremely disappointing this season. The Saints are inexperienced under first-year head coach Kellen Moore and second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler, and it’s showing. They’re 0-3 and most recently allowed 44 points to the Seattle Seahawks.
Dart will earn his second start and should impress, but the defense will stand out the most in this one. We’ll finally see that pass rush shine — the one everyone’s been talking about since the offseason. Expect several sacks from the usual suspects like Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux, but this will also be the Abdul Carter breakout game. And don’t forget the Paulson Adebo revenge game... an interception from the veteran corner wouldn’t be surprising.
Giants record: 1-4
Week 6: The Eagles take down the Giants 29-24
After an encouraging win over the Saints, New York returns home to face division rival Philadelphia. Although the Giants will look to build off their first win in a long time, history will once again repeat itself. The Eagles have had their number.
The loss won’t be pretty, but much like the Week 2 loss to Dallas, Big Blue will surprisingly stay in it. Expect a high-scoring game, and while Philly’s defense is strong, Dart could show more signs of life offensively and build on last week’s momentum. New York will have chances to steal this one, even flirt with an upset, but the rookie will get a full taste of what it’s like to play against Philly.
The defense is still the concern. Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and the rest of the Eagles’ offense will be a tough assignment, and while the Giants have some playmakers, slowing down that unit feels nearly impossible.
Giants record: 1-5
Week 7: The Giants upset the Broncos 23-20
By this point, Dart will have more experience under his belt and should be more than ready to take on the Denver Broncos on the road. Call me crazy, but this feels like it could be an upset (think Browns over Packers in Week 3). Sure, the Broncos are the home team and arguably have the best defense in football, but this one feels like it could end dramatically.
Whether it’s a blocked field goal or a game-winning touchdown, the Giants will escape with a victory. We’ll see Dart’s best game of his young career, likely highlighted by several explosive plays. That said, don’t expect those plays to come from Nabers. He’ll be locked up by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain II.
Instead, Dart will rely on Wan’Dale, Darius Slayton, and even Theo Johnson to move the chains and keep New York in this one.
Giants record: 2-5
