It’s hard to sugarcoat the New York Giants' season. It's been brutal. At 2-8 heading into Week 11, the Giants have found themselves trapped in a nightmarish year where everything that could go wrong has.

Daniel Jones, once the team's hopeful franchise quarterback, has consistently failed to deliver, struggling to find any rhythm or confidence under center. This season, the Giants have managed to turn even favorable matchups into painful-to-watch blowouts, and Jones’ Week 10 performance against the Carolina Panthers in Germany was yet another chapter in the ongoing saga of a floundering offense.

As the losses pile up, the organization finds itself staring at a familiar prospect: a high draft pick with the potential to change the franchise’s direction.

With Jones’ struggles becoming more glaring each week, the Giants are likely to make some significant moves, including the possibility of selecting a new quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. And if New York’s position at No. 2 in the updated draft order holds, the options are tantalizing, to say the least.

Updated NFL draft order heading into Week 11

Here's a look at the current top 10 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft order moving into Week 11:

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-8)
  2. New York Giants (2-8)
  3. Tennessee Titans (2-7)
  4. Cleveland Browns (2-7)
  5. Las Vegas Raiders (2-7)
  6. Miami Dolphins (2-6)
  7. New England Patriots (3-7)
  8. New York Jets (3-7)
  9. New Orleans Saints (3-7)
  10. Carolina Panthers (3-7)

With the No. 2 pick in hand, the Giants are in a prime position to finally solve their quarterback dilemma and find a replacement for Daniel Jones. This year’s draft class is loaded, and two names stand out as potential saviors for New York’s struggling offense.

Shedeur Sanders, Colorado’s standout quarterback, is widely considered the top prospect in this draft. He’s known for his toughness, accuracy, and poise. Sanders can extend plays and stay calm under pressure, which is exactly what the Giants’ stagnant offense has been missing. His leadership could bring a much-needed spark to New York.

Another top option is Cameron Ward from Miami, a fearless, aggressive quarterback who would inject some serious playmaking ability into the Giants’ offense. Where Jones has been hesitant, Ward would take chances downfield, potentially opening up a whole new dimension for New York’s passing game.

Adding a quarterback like Sanders or Ward would be a game-changer, setting up the Giants with a strong offensive foundation to build on. And if a coaching change follows to replace Brian Daboll, New York could see the overhaul the franchise desperately needs.

But quarterback is just the beginning. The Giants have plenty of other gaps to fill, starting with reinforcements on the offensive line and additional skill players to support their new signal-caller. On defense, upgrades on the edge and in the secondary would help a unit that’s struggled to keep New York competitive in most games.

With this high pick, the Giants have a rare chance to reset their trajectory. A smart draft could turn the page on the current cycle of frustration and set the stage for genuine growth in 2025.
