Strahan is number one and that is a no brainer.
The star defensive end/television sensation is not only the greatest Giants defensive lineman, but one of the greatest to ever step on an NFL field. His 141.5 sacks are fifth all-time, he is still the single-season record holder for sacks (22.5 in 2001), and had six double-digit sack campaigns. And even in 2007, when he missed much of training camp and many thought he’d retire, he posted a solid nine sacks that year. Just a truly dominant player.
As great of a pass rusher as he was, he was also a fantastic run defender. He was a complete defensive end in every sense of the word and he was always praised for that. Strahan is one of the greatest to ever wear a Giants uniform, and the best one to dig his hand in the dirt.
