New York Giants: Team Must Find Identity Against Saints
The New York Giants will play the New Orleans Saints today in the historic Superdome. The Giants look to take a firm stance in front of their NFC East foes by advancing to 5-3 in this week 8 contest. The 4-3 Giants still need to find their identity.

What makes this team click? It is a legitimate question. The Giants started the season off with two straight demoralizing losses. They then rattled off three straight wins. Just when it looked like things were going great they put together a laughable performance against the Eagles. The Giants bounced back by serving the Dallas Cowboys to a little revenge.
The Giants are a 4-3 team despite having a chance to win every game they played. The Giants are so inconsistent that you never know which team is going to show up. Sure, they always dress in Big Blue attire but they always play a little different. One week Eli Manning will be lighting the opponent up, the next week the offense will stall way too much.
Defensively the Giants are the biggest mystery however. The Giants have one of the best rushing defenses in the league but they give up an ungodly amount of passing yards. The defense has been opportunistic and it has grabbed some turnovers in almost every game. It’s better than it was last season. There are things about it that are tremendous, but they can’t generate any pass rush.
Last Sunday the Giants won a game against the Cowboys in which Eli Manning had a pedestrian line of statistics. It was a grind it out kind of game. It was nice to see that the Giants could win like that but the lack of a passing game was certainly frustrating. The Giants are going to continue the win some-lose some pattern until they can figure out what they do well.

The Giants have to figure their identity out. The problem is that I haven’t seen one thing the Giants do consistently every week. The Giants have to fix that in the coming weeks.
