There have been noticeable changes between the team the New York Giants have been since firing Tom Coughlin and the team they've been in the short time since they hired John Harbaugh. Everyone with a pulse has seen it: the only way you could miss it is if you spent the last six months in a coma.
Between Harbaugh and Jaxson Dart, there's a vibe pulsating through 1925 Giants Drive that has New York looking primed to become one of the NFL's biggest surprise teams. They added one of the most accomplished coaches in the sport right now to a promising product, and they'll be a real tough out.
But more importantly, Harbaugh and Dart have worked together to help turn the Giants' culture around. Having a coach who knows how to win at the highest level as the drill sergeant for a talented young roster is bound to be a recipe for success--since they're both people who truly love football.
Jaxson Dart is impressed by what he's seen from John Harbaugh to date
During a panel at Fanatics Fest this past weekend, Dart was asked about what he's seen from Harbaugh to date. And after spending a season with Brian Daboll, the second-year quarterback is loving what he's seen in regards to this new culture in the building--which was not there last season.
“I think the biggest change has been the culture," Dart said… "How Harbs establishes camaraderie between the team, the coaching staff, the standard. It’s a different feeling. It's a refreshing feeling."
With a young roster like Big Blue, you want your new leader to be able to hold this roster accountable--and the Super Bowl-winning head coach will do just that. His practices are longer and tougher we've seen from any Giants coach in a while, and unlike Joe Judge, players will actually respond to him.
And clearly his leadership style is resonating with his new franchise quarterback. The 23-year-old is coming off of a season where he finished as an Offensive Rookie of the Year finalist, but Harbs' added investment in the trenches should help him stay healthy and take the expected leap to superstardom.
The talent on this roster isn't something to question. We saw the potential in the brief time where everyone was healthy in 2025. And given the number of games coaching has lost for G-Men in recent seasons, Harbaugh's presence and savvy offseason additions have raised the floor for the Giants.
When you're a head coach in the NFL for almost two decades, you tend to get good at rallying a locker room. Knowing that the New York Giants have John Harbaugh as their head coach should fire up the fanbase: clearly Jaxson Dart is fired up about the new era in East Rutherford.
