Giants fans just made OC preference loud and clear after Davis Webb news

New Giants - Head Coach John Harbaugh

Things aren't exactly going great for John Harbaugh and his quest to find the New York Giants' next offensive coordinator. To be fair, it's not necessarily going poorly either.

There have been some swings and misses. Todd Monken took the Cleveland Browns head coaching job... and still hasn’t publicly apologized for leaving me hanging. Davis Webb is also not North Jersey-bound, opting to stay put in Denver after being promoted from passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator under Sean Payton.

While it's never great to see two of the top options disappear, there's a reason why the saying goes, "third time's the charm." There's no shortage of other candidates to choose from. Harbs has already met with several others, including Robert Prince, Jim Bob Cooter, Brian Callahan, Alex Tanney, Shane Day, and Kliff Kingsbury.

Although mob rule won't ultimately make the decision, I couldn't help but poll Big Blue Nation to see who they'd prefer the G-Men go after, full stop. The results showed overwhelming support for one Kliff Kingsbury, who stole the show with 69 out of the 146 votes:

Please note that not all the names in the poll have had or will have an interview with the Giants.

Giants fans are pushing John Harbaugh toward Kliff Kingsbury

The former Washington Commanders OC has long been revered as one of the brilliant offensive minds in football. He got his start at Texas Tech, perfecting the Air Raid offense with Patrick Mahomes under center.

At the young age of 40, he took his talents to the NFL, becoming the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. The team struggled under his four years at the helm (28-37-1), but he proved to be a strong QB coach, helping Kyler Murray win Offensive Rookie of the Year in their first year together.

Some of his best work was saved for his next spot, where he had the opportunity to develop another standout QB in the Nation's capital. His work with Jayden Daniels saw the Washington Commanders make it to a truly shocking NFC Championship Game run, with Daniels winning OROY under Kingsbury.

Well, if that's what's coming Jaxson Dart's way in Year 2, sign me up. The guy clearly has a knack for developing QBs. Say what you will about his failures in the desert, or the 2025 implosion that was the Commanders, his wealth of knowledge is exactly what has Giants fans sold.

I'm sure it doesn't hurt that if he joins Harby's staff, he'll be going up against his former team twice a year, having the perfect opportunity to embarrass his former employer for impulsively letting him go earlier this offseason. He'll also bring a little behind-the-scenes info on the Commies, which could prove useful.

The 46-year-old is currently without a home, and it looks like East Rutherford might be his last shot this cycle. He interviewed for the Baltimore Ravens' HC opening that went to Jesse Minter. He interviewed for the Titans' OC role that went to Brian Daboll. The stars could be aligning here.

Either way, the fans have spoken. Give us Kingsbury.
