You think the fans are the only ones who want to see NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley back in action with the team? Not a chance. As the Pro Bowl running back and the front office try to figure things out in terms of an extension, Barkley's teammates are also being patient for him to get on the field.

Just ask safety Xavier McKinney about that. McKinney, the leader of the secondary for the G-Men entering the 2023 campaign, knows how important Barkley is for this team as a whole. That's why the DB took to Instagram to let Saquon know that the guys in blue miss him and they'll be ready to welcome him back to East Rutherford with open arms when he's ready:

That had to bring a smile to Barkley's face when he saw McKinney's comment, which was posted on Saquon's new workout post on Instagram. A lot of people have noticed Barkley was wearing a Giants helmet too.

As things stand, it's up in the air when/if Barkley and Big Blue will come to an agreement on a new deal. General manager Joe Schoen had multiple offers on the table for the speedster earlier in the offseason, but it wasn't for the amount Barkley was looking for.

There's going to be a new-look offense for the Giants in '23, with additions Darren Waller, Jalin Hyatt, Parris Campbell and others ready to make noise. However, no one can argue that Barkley is the most important piece of the puzzle for offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.

He's coming off the best season of his career, reminding people of how electric he can be with the ball in his hands. McKinney wants to see something get done ASAP. Countless NY supporters share the same feeling. Only time will tell how this whole situations plays out for Barkley, but there's hope good news will end up arriving.
