New England Patriots (15-0) at New York Giants (10-5)
8:00, NFL Network, CBS, FOX
Tom Coughlin knows this doesn’t matter much for the Giants, though I am sure like everyone else he wants to prevent history from happening against his team. However, next week’s playoff game could decide Coughlin’s future as the coach of the New York Giants and for that matter, his career.
Playing the starters for a short amount of time is what should and most likely will be done, unless for that matter the game is winnable a good chunk of the way through the 60 minutes.
The Patriots are relentless [...]

Back from break
Welcome back after a little holiday break away from blogging.
We last left off with the G-Men needing a W to get into the playoffs, all made possible by their rout of the Bills in last week’s 21-0 fourth quarter.
Tonight, the Giants have nothing to lose against New England, and can only ruin the Patriots perfect season and leave them stranded at 15-1.
New York will look for redemption agsinst Jeff Garcia as they will travel to Tampa Bay for the first round next week. Garcia knocked the Giants out of the first round as a 49er in 2002 and as an [...]
Five worst losses under Coughlin
Sunday was bad. Really bad. But in almost four season with Tom Coughlin at the helm of the Giants, it doesn’t compare to some other losses.
5. 2007 Week 12 – Minnesota 41, Giants 17
Obviously the most recent of the losses, Eli was picked four times, three of which were run back for touchdowns. The Giants were favored to win this contest and most of the experts picked them, but the offense was horrible from the get-go and the G-Men brought the Vikings back into the NFC Wild card picture.
4. 2006 Week 3 – Seattle 42, Giants 30
This was a tough [...]
Antonio Pierce Interview
Antonio Pierce was on Mike and the Mad Dog yesterday talking about Sunday’s defeat and for some reason Pierce talks as though the Giants were the better team in the game.
An alternate route
Ralph Vacchiano has posted another way into the playoffs for the G-Men if they can’t come up with a win.
The Giants will make the playoffs if any of the following scenarios happen:
1. The Giants win one of their final two games.
2. Washington loses to or ties Minnesota and New Orleans loses to or ties Philadelphia.
The Vikings beat the Bears last night on MNF, but will have a day less of rest before hosting the Redskins next week.
The Giants chances of making the postseason are still very strong, but waiting until Week 17 to get in will greatly decrease their odds of a wild [...]
Black Monday
The day after a tough defeat is the hardest. The day after losing a game that might cost you a playoff spot is even harder.
The Giants are in trouble. With the Saints pulling off a win yesterday there is no guarantee in the NFC Wild Card race unless the Giants win one of the last two games. And it has to be done against Buffalo because I am pretty sure the G-Men don’t want to be playing for their season in 13 days against the Patriots in Week 17. If the Giants can’t win against the Bills the Giants will [...]
Don’t be fooled by the record
Yes, the Giants are 9-5 and still control their own destiny in the playoff picutre, but don’t be fooled by their record or current place in the standings as to the team the Giants are.
NYG vs Teams .500 or Better
1-5
NYG vs Teams Under .500
8-0
One week from the biggest game of the season for the Giants and they have A LOT of work to do in that time.
Redskins 22, Giants 10
The Giants had to win to clinch a playoff berth and they failed to do so, and now they have some serious work cut out for them.
Eli Manning was 18 of 52 for 184 yards and a TD, but his 34 incompletitions were the most since Joe Namath. Eli did not have much help if you want to say any at all as the G-Men dropped 10 passes and it seemed as though Brandon Jacobs dropped 59 passes alone.
Todd Collins made his first start in the NFL in 10 years and two days. The backup QB didn’t play well at [...]
Here we are with the opening kickoff about to take place after a week of hype for this game. 27-13 Giants is still my prediction. A win and they’re in.
UPDATE, 8:29 PM
The Giants went away from the running game on the opening drive and tried for the big play on 3rd and 10. Eli did his best to scare the crap out of Giants Stadium on the first play of the game which was almost picked off. Not sure if throwing a bomb to Plaxico on 3rd and long was the best idea there even if he did almost [...]

Week 15 is here and the Giants are 60 minutes of good football away from the postseason for the third straight season, hopefully the playoffs this year will last longer for big blue.
