And we’re back. After a short break for the holidays and a wild finish to the 2008 NFL season, I present you with the last MMH of the regular season.
There isn’t much to say about the Giants game. They lost by one point (20-19) on the road, with their backups in, to a team that was in must-win mentality. Play the regulars and starters for four quarters and the game isn’t even close. Hopefully they have a chance to play the Vikings in the playoffs, thought it is very doubtful.
The Vikings have the best run defense in the game? Well, [...]

Monday Morning Hangover
I am back after the holiday break and the Monday Morning Hangover will be posted this afternoon. So check back for a breakdown of the wild Week 17 finish in the league as well as the postseason preview.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas from the G-Men Headquarters. I hope you all have a wonderful, happy, and healthy holiday season.
This weekend might not mean anything for the Giants, but Tom Coughlin is still preaching that he will play to win the game and unless a player has a significant injury, expect to see them play on Sunday in Minnesota.
On the other end of things, this will be no exhibition for the Vikings who need to win to guarantee themselves the NFC North and a playoff berth. So if you are hoping to see a lackluster Minnesota team, think again. Adrien Peterson will [...]
The Last Time They Met
This Sunday the Giants will travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings in what is a meaningless game for the G-Men, not so much for the Vikings thanks to the Packers last night. It’s been a while since the Giants and Vikings last met at Giants Stadium on Sunday, November 2007, in Week 12 of last season. At the time the Giants were 7-3 and the Vikings were 4-6. And if you forgot, on that day Eli Manning threw four interceptions (three returned for TDs) as the Giants fell to 7-4 with the 41-17 loss at home.
Watching these highlights could make [...]
No. 1
Now that the Giants have locked up the No. 1 seed in the NFC and home field throughout the playoffs, there are a lot of columns and articles being written about how maybe being the one seed is a bad thing. And the people that write these are out of their mind. What are teams supposed to do, lose games in the NFL because they don’t want to be the top seed?
I am not a big believer in statistics about home field and being the one seed and what not because I have seen teams lose in the first round [...]
December Dilemma
The title of this post is my best attempt to create a March Madness slogan for the NFL and I think it’s alright.
The Chicago Bears have been hanging off the elimination cliff by one arm for a while now, but on Monday night they pulled themselves back up and are now close to pushing the Vikings off the mountain. The NFC North has been an absolute gongshow for the first 15 weeks of the season, so who would expect anything else now?
But, before I get to the playoff scenarios, what better way to end the 2008 Monday Night Football season [...]
The Unoriginal Keith Bulluck
I am sure you have all seen Keith Bulluck and Lendale White have a danceoff on a Terrible Towel following their 31-14 defeat of the Pittsburgh Steelers. And while I have no problem with this, others do, including Bill Cowher.
But who cares if the Titans want to dance on the towel. Let them dance. They did just clinch home field and beat a team that has been putting together comebacks every week. If the Steelers don’t want people dancing on their trademark, then maybe they need a QB who won’t fumble the ball four times and throw two picks with so much [...]
Monday Morning Hangover
More like a Monday Afternoon Hangover, but nevertheless, here it is.
The New York Football Giants are back. It took them back-to-back losses to division opponents to find themselves, but the Giants proved on Sunday night that they have gone nowhere and are still the best team in the NFL.
After losing games to Philly and Dallas and with Carolina ripping off wins to tie the Giants at 11-3, the world had turned upside down and suddenly the country was painted in teal and black (or whatever hideous colors the Panthers wear). But after a Sunday night victory over Carolina in the [...]
Losing Is Not An Option
Where have the New York Giants we saw in Weeks 1 through 14 (minus Week 5) been for the past two weeks? Wherever they have been hiding they better come out to play on Sunday night.
All week I have had to listen to how panic has hit the Giants and how they are no longer the best team in football. Instead the Steelers (who the Giants beat on the road) are apparently the new favorite of the league because they squeaked out a win over the Ravens (who the Giants beat by 20) and the Cowboys (who the Giants went [...]
Devastation In Dallas
Na, na, na, na, na ,na ,na ,na, hey, hey, hey, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODBYE
And there is the dagger that the world has been waiting for to end the 2008 Dallas Cowboys season.
In a must-win game, the last game ever at Texas Stadium, against a rookie quarterback and the Baltimore Ravens, the Dallas Cowboys did what they do best these days. They choked.
From Tony Romo’s deep interceptions to the fake field goal to the 77-yard run from Willis McGahee to the 82-yard run from Le’Ron McClain, the Cowboys were devastated in every which way. And now the following must happen for the Cowboys [...]
