Roster cuts are officially upon on, which means uncomfortable conversations are coming for the New York Giants.
After a near-perfect 3-0 preseason, the G-Men will need to trim their roster down from 90 guys to 53. It's not an envious position to be in, but it's one the coaching staff and front office signed up for. The team has already parted ways with fan favorite Tommy DeVito and training camp standout Montrell Washington. The purge of the preseason darlings didn't stop there, though.
According to The Athletic’s Dan Duggan, running back and Swiss Army Knife standout Dante "Turbo" Miller will not make the 53-man roster for the 2025 season:
The Giants cut RB Dante “Turbo” Miller, per source. Preseason star likely headed back to the practice squad.

The Giants have released Dante "Turbo" Miller ahead of roster cuts
It almost feels like Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen took one look at the preseason box scores and decided anyone who stood out is getting sent home.
Turbo finished with 26 carries for 80 yards (3.1 yards per carry) and 14 receptions for 135 yards. The 215 all-purpose yards are impressive, but it just wasn't enough to really separate him from being anything more than the fourth-best running back on the team.
Ahead of him sit Tyrone Tracy Jr., Devin Singletary, and Cam Skattebo. Miller was never going to climb any higher than any of the three of them, but an impressive preseason showing did question whether the team would carry four or not. Ultimately, they did not, leaving the 26-year-old looking for a new home.
There's always the chance that the former Columbia University-turned South Carolina Gamecock stays with the G-Men. He's shown enough to earn a practice squad spot if no other team claims him off waivers. Miller's no stranger to the practice squad, spending 2024 on New York's extension team after signing as an undrafted rookie.
Earlier in the preseason, Miller looked like a lock for the 53. But Skatt getting healthy and a brutal special teams bungle against the Patriots (getting hit by a punt while blocking for Ihmir Smith-Marsette) might’ve been what did him in.
If this is the end of his era in New York, it came with a heck of a final lap. But if he clears waivers, don’t be shocked if New York keeps him in the garage. If Turbo’s out, more tough calls are coming. The Giants aren’t done trimming yet.
