Plax Gets Shot…Yawn

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

So I wake up today and go online in search of predictions and analysis for the games this weekend and instead find out that Plaxico Burress accidentall shot himself last night. And the scary thing is, the news didn’t phase me at all. That’s not good.
The stories these days should be about a Giants/Jets Super Bowl, or an all-Manning bowl, or about Earth, Wind, and Fire. Not what recent violation of the rules Plaxico Burress has been a part of. It’s become a weekly ritual for Plaxico and it is getting tiresome.
But when someone liked Plaxico is involved with this [...]

Monday Night Mess

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Monday Night Football was a gongshow. You talk about no defense in a football game. Forget the relentless offenses, there was just no defense. No two teams should be scoring at the rate the Packers and Saints were scoring at. I am not even sure if the punters dressed for the game because it is likely they were hanging out in the locker room drinking beers watching Monday Night Football like the rest of the country.
Tony Kornheiser. Come on Tony. I want to enjoy you as a commentator. I want you to say important, insightful things on the telecast. [...]

The Overrated Rankings

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Everyone likes to do their own power rankings and share their opinion on who belongs where in the NFL. Here we like to do things a little differently. Instead of ranking all 32 teams and sticking the Giants and Titans at the top and the Chiefs and Lions at the bottom, let’s take some time go over the Not So Elite 8: The NFL’s Most Overrated Teams.
1. San Diego Chargers
Once again a Chargers rant. But really it is so much fun. I mean what other team could have so many supposed “weapons” and be so horrific? What other team could [...]

How Many More Wins?

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: None Yet

Before the season started I said the Giants needed 10 wins to get into the playoffs and I thought that they would finish 10-6 on the season.
They met their quota in only 11 weeks of football, but now the question comes of how many wins can the Giants rack up this season? 10? 11? 12? 13? 14? 15?
Way back on September 22nd, the Giants were 4-0 and at the time I put a poll up on the site that asked how many wins will the Giants finish with. Here is how the people voted:
4-6 wins  - 4%
7-9 wins – 2%
10-12 [...]

Monday Morning Hangover

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: None Yet

Sorry for the delay is this is now the Monday Morning/Afternoon/Early Evening Hangover, but if you really have a hangover, then you are probably just getting up anyways.
Usually when you think of a New York/New York championship you think about baseball with the Yankees and Mets. That and the simple fact that it is impossible in hockey and basketball, and I am not sure any other sports besides those three and football matter.
But this season a Giants/Jets Super Bowl is a very real possibilty and just got a lot more real yesterday. The Giants are going to the playoffs as [...]

The 1 Seed

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

And that’ll wrap up the top seed in the NFC playoffs.
A big win today for the New York Football Giants as they once again drove home the point that they are the best team in the NFL and the only elite team for that matter. By beating the Arizona Cardinals 36-24, the Giants have now beaten Washington, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Arizona, and Baltimore aka five of the possible 11 playoff teams not named the New York Giants. And with the win the Giants only road loss since Week 1 of 2007 remains the loss to the Browns this season.
Eli Manning was great [...]

Some Playoff Thoughts

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Add the Steelers to the playoff party. With their win tonight, the Steelers are now 8-3 and even though I figured they would make it to January football, they sealed the deal with a romping of the 1-9-1 Bengals.
The Giants, Cardinals, Titans, and Steelers are in, so there are eight spots left to fill over the last six weeks of the season.
This weekend is going to be nuts. And when I mean nuts, I mean it is going to the best week of the NFL season so far. There is so much at stake in every single game as playoff [...]
